Dear all,
I have a swelling around the joint of my left hand small finger and also pain at the base of the thumb. This has substantially reduced my power of turning, pulling etc using the left hand.I have general painful feeling in both the hands especially in the morning. I am 47 year old male. Any explanations for this condition and possible remedies ?
Thanks in advance.

Normally you condition your shins by kicking a heavy bag. This increases calcium deposits and bone density. A shortcut is to run a rolling pin over your shins but you risk micro-fractures and arthritis because the pin is harder than the bone. Can I condition my shins with a large candle (softer than the bone) without the risks?
Has anyone heard about “RELIV”? They tell me that it helps control your pain.
I’m a junior in high school and I’ve been thinking about joining the military, but I was told that because I have a pre-existing condition (arthritis) that they wouldnt accept me. But it’s not a crippling arthritis at all, I can still move around without pain as long as I’m on my medication. But I was curious.
I have a friend that has recently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She is in her early forties and her job does require she stay on her feet most of the day.
I know this is not a curable condition but I was wondering if anyone could share some tips with me on how to alleviate some of the symptoms (without drugs).
Thanks in advance.
– My mum suffers from Osteoarthritis/degenerative arthritis in both her knees.
– She finds that the usual walking/jogging/cycling will cause her excruciating pain, and then she finds it difficult to walk.
– Recccomend a safe exercise for her, to lose some pounds? She’s overweight, and she’s 51 years old.
– Thanks for answering =)

For example - I know someone who has osteoatthritis and joint pain, some due to Lupus. I heard Glucosamine Chondroitin is good? Anything else? (traditional or alternative means - or home remedies )
I was tested for Rheumatoid Arthritis, I don’t understand how it is found in the blood because i was blood tested for it.
I have stage IV cirrhosis of the liver, and sever arthritis that prevents me from working and my Workman’s compensation doctors won’t prescribe anything other than Vicodin for my pain. I know acetaminophen is bad for the liver, and was wondering if workman compensation doctors are only allowed to prescribe a certain class of drugs for pain. The doctors know I have stage IV cirrhosis of the liver, and they still prescribe pain medication that is bad from my liver.
I’m pretty sure that it can cause other health concerns like diabetes and high blood pressure and some other bad stuff too. I’m also aware that a rotten tooth can kill you eventually. What I’m looking for is how it can cause any of these things and whether or not it can cause arthritis too.
Besides Glucosamine and Chondroitin and MSM it’s got to be something else to fight back Arthritis and tendon inflamation, especially in the shoulders.
Everybody says different things. I just asked how to stop cracking your fingers. And a couple of people asked if I really believe that cracking fingers causes arthritis. I dont know what to say! Does it, or not?
My son has had pain in his arms wrist and mostly in his legs. My pediatrician’s says its just growing pains. I doubt that very much every time he is in pain which is usually at night or when it gets cold he starts crying horribly. The only way to take away his pain is with children’s motrin. Im tired of giving him that he has been like this since he was two i believe its juvenile arthritis but the doctor is so sure its not. Could she be wrong. Im tired of this i just want him to get over this stage already basically what im saying is my hand hurts from massaging.
I tried to get him blood tested he wont stay still even if it counted on his life.
what other alternative test can i look for to see if its juvenile
arthritis
I took somewhat high doses of colloidal silver (a few tablespoons) for several days. I had some weird reactions (too gross to say) and I got bad joint pain in my legs/feet and arms/hands. The joint pain sort of moves around from day to day and has been there for 4 days. I also have IBD. Could the joint pain be the herxheimer reaction? I have only had it one other time and that’s also when I took colloidal silver for several days.
I need a triple fusion surgery done in my cervical spine. I just had a triple epidural injection under flouroscopy by a pain Doctor. She told me that i need surgery. I cannot even afford the consultation. I have stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis thrughout my entire spine. The spinal disc problem has been there for many years, probably as a result of my father throwing me thru two sliding hollow door closet door when i was only 9 years old. He was very physically abuse. I’ve also had many sports and other injuries. I have insurance but cannot afford any deductible.
I had to retire early because of it and cannot work anymore, and am on a fixed income.
Does anyone know of a hospital that does this surgery just for the insurance payment, or better yet free under a research grant. I still have numerous medical bills from other illnesses. Please help, as i am desparate.
Tammi B>>>Thank you so much for the info. I just returned from a Dr.’s appt. and was so glad that you spent the time to answer. Bless you..:)
Do all the people who has been diagnosed for rheumatoid arthritis had swelling in some of their joints?
Can you die from psoriatic arthritis, or does it just affect your joints and make them swell up, or can you actually die from it? My mom who I love dearly has it and I’m trying to learn more about it.
My wife whose age is 30 yrs developed symptoms of arthritis just after delivery of our daughter before 3 yrs. Her RA Factor was -ve and asotetor was normal.Initially She started feeling pain and stiffness in hand finger joints and foot finger joints. Doctor started treatment with artifin but then shifted to Salazopyrin(1+1+1). She felt better and after a month or so stiffness in fingers vanished. After about 6 months she started feeling pain in bacbone and knee joint. RA Factor and AN Factor were tested. RA Factor was
-ve but AN Factor was +ve.Now quite often she feels pain in backbone. knee joint and hip joint. What treatment should be resorted to? I shall be thankful for ur valuable advice.
I am wondering if there is a "best", or most effective supplement that can be obtained over the counter for help with control of the effects that this condition has on the hip and legs? Can men get this disease, and if so, can liquid calcium and glucosemine supplement help? I was trying to find something I could get for my husband that might work. Thanks to all who answer.
I’ve been taking a drug for high blood pressure and now I am also taking a drug for arthritis pain. Is there a website that I can enter the two drugs to see if there is any known reactions?
Arthritis runs in my Mother’s side of the family. I just turned 30 years old & I’ve been noticing I have pretty severe aches & pains throughout my body from time to time. The pains & aches will not stay in one spot though. One month my ankle will be aching then the next it would be my hip area. My aunt (my Mother’s sister) was diagnosed with Rhumatoid Arthritis about 4 years ago, so I know what it can do but how do I know if that might be what I am experiencing?
