Arthritis Symptoms Archives

thank you dear Nina :)

what type of arthritis is this usually associated with, and can you have symptoms of arthritis in other areas, and if so, what are the most common?

I read in an article that ginger is good for easing arthritis like symptoms. is this true?

I was diagnosed as having seronegative reactive arthritis last July. The initial flare caused me to be bedridden for three months and a spell in hospital. My specialist told me that most patients are recovered within 3-6 months. It caused swelling in most of my joints and a lot of pain. Along with a whole bucket full of other symptoms, mouth ulcers, conjunctivitis along with a nasty rash.Initially I had my knee’s drained and was given steroid injections into some of my joints. I am currently taking Paracetamol & dihydracodiene for the pain, doesn’t help much. Lansrapole, celexocib, methotrexate and folic acid, I have been taking these for nearly 10 months now and dont seem to be improving much. I still have swollen fingers, wrists, knees, ankles, I have terrible back, shoulder, elbow, ankle, knee pain, it has also left me with three deformed fingers. Just these last few weeks it has presented itself in the right side of my face and is very painful to try and eat, its usually just soup these days., My specialist says all he can do is to see how i am in 4 months time and go from there. I am in constant pain, sometimes I can’t even manage to get out of bed. Has anyone else had this and recovered from it. Im only 37 with four active kids who have had to help me dress, bathe etc. For the last ten months it has taken over thier lives aswell. I’ve had to leave my job and this disease has completely threw my world into turmoil. Is there any hope, does anyone know of any home remedies I could try that may help. The only thing I have found makes me feel ‘normal’ again is when I go into hospital and they give me steroids on an I V, my Dr won’t let me continue with this as its harmul to my liver/kidneys. Any words of advice would be gratefully recieved.

Also about the Asthma & Leprosy

My doctor says I have some form of inflammatory arthritis. He he put me on Celebrex and he also said I have low iron and put me on Ferrous Fumarate..which is for the low iron. Is low iron a symptom of my condition?

My fiancee has been on dialysis for 3 years. He is 24.

Within the last month hes started having extreme pain and swelling in his wrists, knuckles, toes, ankles and outsides of his feet. It seems to be getting worse. Theres swelling in his fingers and ankles, pain to the lightest touch, sometimes tingling and the areas are often hot. He does feel weakness as well.

The pain is so severe the only thing thats come close to helping is Vicodin. He didn’t even need to take any Vicodin after surgery, this pain is that bad. He also has taken Advil and it seems to help a bit.

His doctor said this could be a protein build up from dialysis. Is this reversible or even treatable?

They think it could also be neuropathy. What are the chances of this, and is it reversible or treatable?

Is it just a type of arthritis?

Over active Parathyroid?

He is miserable. What can we do? He has an appointment with neurology, but its not for another two weeks. I don’t know if he can last that long.

Also on the above question, elevated sed rate, and speckled ANA. Doctors thought it was lupus but ruled that out. Severe pain is constant.
I have been to 2 rheumatologists that think I have an autoimmune disorder but do not know what kind but they do not think it is lupus

She has diagnosed me and prescribed naproxin. My knee is slightly sore during the workday but wakes me out a sound sleep four to five hrs after I drop off. I injured the knee many years ago, but did not have any breaks only brusing. most of what I read seems related to RA and does not seem to apply to me. I am asking if anyone experiences this type of pain and been given the same answers? Heat and/or cold compresses do not seem to help much.

I have a arthritis cond. I had my dr fill out their form and my outlook is excellent as stated.
I still got denied employment (federal) just b/c I have this condition.
I guess of the possibility it may get bad, is this discrimination?
You can’t not hire someone just b/c they have a disease! I could understand if I was in pain or not mobile but I am healthier than most people without this!
My doctor even thought it was rediculous!
It’s kind of like not hiring someone who got over cancer b/c it MAY come back. Not fair.
Any thoughts?
I went to their Dr. who stated that I did have limited ROM in one area. They then sent paperwork to my Dr. who did a complete physical, and another ROM test to their standard and confirmed everything was normal. Signed and dated. So they can’t say it’s b/c of my ROM b/c I passed a physical and a ROM test! How frustrating. Just b/c god chose me to have this disease-which is fine, I can handle it through treatment but to get denied makes me feel like I’m incapeable when I’m not at all. Thanks guys!
Thank you nana but how can they discharge him on just a possibility? That is discrimination if you ask me. This job does have particular things I had to pass as far as ROM, but I passed them all with no problem, and my doctor filled out their required paperwork stating so.. So how can you disqualify someone on a posibility?

does gout arthritis affect your back if so what are some treatments that can be done

I’ve had 6 joint replacements & 10 surgeries. But still suffer from flu-like digestive sys inflamation. No dairy, eggs, meat; vegan diet with herbal and other suppliments. At least I can walk, but the selfishness and cruel judgeing from biological family members and others causes me to grieve, because I love and pray for them and myself. Jesus wept a lot too. Ability to love is not about others; It’s about oneself, and God is the only witness that sees true.It is the small gestures of kindness and mercy that have the greatest meaning to someone who suffers. You don’t have to rescue them; just acknowledge them as still part of humanity. Go to others with something to share, and not with emptyness expecting others to fill you. Only you can rescue you from false identity, and still love. Purify your thoughts and heartfelt intentions. That’s what we’re here to learn. We are not our bodies. This world is only a shadow of the true world.

Diagnosed with MS 13 yr. ago. Nearly blind now, permanent numbness in left arm. I saw a podiatrist for swelling (egg size) on top of foot, x-rays show joints have fused in that area and by big toe. Right foot is fine, right side of body is fine. Unsure of whether I should continue with podiatrist.

And also, how does one develop it?

I’m just curious. And have yet to find a good website.

In the last year or so my knees have become very sore and when I first get out of bed sometimes it takes several minutes for me to be able to move without being stiff..also there is pain running donw the front of my chins..my left knee is sore to the touch all the time..and sometimes climbing or coming down steps in all but impossible..in my 20’s I recieved an injury to my left knee plaing coed baskeball I have been to doctors when it first became hard for me to go down steps and was told there was no arthritis..I dont have insurance and would like to find some remedies for the soreness..I have recently started to work out at the gym..mainly walking..Im hoping that will help..is this the way Arthriis starts?

Do they vary in different people???? Are they different kinds???

I have had a stomach condition for over a year now and my doctor said i might have arthritis as i have swelling of the fingers and toes, and when its cold they are in a lot of pain expeciailly my fingers. The swelling is annoying me and as its colder thats annoying me too. Ive experienced this for about 6 months but its worsened as its colder now. I have recently been really really weak, so much that I have NO energy at the end of the day and i can barely shower & dress at night. I had an arthritis blood test though and it showed completely normal. I don’t believe this is in my head because I have all these symptoms. What else could these symptoms mean? Lupus? and is there a test for lupus?
arthritis is in my family
and one of my parents has chronic fatigue

the front of the tops of my legs. Sometimes the pain about makes me want to drop.

Okay, so here’s the deal: My grandma keeps bugging me telling me that she thinks she has neck arthritis. And she won’t go to a doctor. I need to know the symtoms that people have, so if you know, please tell me. P.S. please only answer if you really know. *Thank-You!*

I am only 28 but My knees hurt quite often. I’m NOT over weight so i don’t understand it. i used to exercise a lot and I cheer leaded in high school. My back hurts often too..could this be arthritis?? I asked my Dr. to check me out and he said that I’m too young but I disapprove..what do you guys think??

I have both types and am currently on Sulfasalazine, but considering Enbrel.

My feet have been hurting for quite some time and ache and burn. I can walk on them but it is very painful. Even at rest they ache and burn. I have noticed the joint closest to my foot on my second toe is swollen and it hurts to curl my toes. It is also painful for them to be touched or rubbed. This has been going on for several months now. I wear tennis shoes and I can only wear this old pair as anything else hurts my feet severly..so much that I really can not walk for a day or two. I have always been one that hates to wear shoes, but now I can not stand to be without shoes as when I am barefoot I feel like my feet are splitting in two.

What about cracking/popping when i extend the leg or kneel?
