My doctors believe I have Rheumatoid arthritis. I cant take the pain any more!?
I am 28 yrs old and I can’t take the pain. My doctor wants to do a bone scan tomorrow and will probably start me one some rheumatic drugs. I am already taking the max on celebrx. I am always crying and cant seem to concentrate. I am also extremely fatique. I can seem to find someone to talk too. My best friend is busy with her 4 kids and my boyfriend is busy at work. I just called him and he could not take 5 minutes out of his busy schedule to take to me as i break down and cry.
I do not know what to do. I want the pain to go away. Please
help. I have always been a very upbeat person always smiling….now i can remember the last time i smiled and laughed.

I am 29 and have rheumatoid arthritis also, although it doesn’t sound as bad as what you have, I feel your pain. What i have found helpful is to put a heating pad on my legs when they start to ache really bad, also I take a warm bath. I also wear a magnetic bracelet and I truly believe that it helps. If I go a couple of days without it my arthritis really starts to act up. I would try one if I was you, it doesn’t hurt to try.
As for the pain Il-1 recpetor antatgonist drugs seem to be the most promising. ("interleukin-1 receptor)
This I think actually stops the MECHANISM that causes the pain– as in, the antibodies attacking the joints- rather than allowing the joints to be attacked, get inflamed, and to then try to ‘numb’ the pain it causes after the fact with either OTC or prescription strength painkillers.
As for the fatigue, I have an immun disorder myself and the fatigue was the worst part. Miraculously I found that taking megadoses of plain old cheap Vitamin C really really helps.
I take it along with antacid tablets to prevent or reduce GI upset from all the acid.
I am on varyng amount of C, depending on how fatigued I get. On my worst days, I can consume up to 30 wafers or more of Vitamin C at 500 mg each. On better days, I only need maybe half of that to feel fine.
It is amazing how much that has helped and made the biggest impact on my health.
I totally relate to breaking down and crying, not being able to take it anymore. There is nothing worse than knowing that your own immune system is attacking your organs. And the pain, the swelling, the illness, the exhaustion– it takes over your life and is debilitating!!!!
I hear you and ache with you because I know where you are….
the best tool is knowledge, to do a bit of browing and educate yourself on the mechanism of RA and ewhat drugs will trewat the SOURCE of the disease, not just treat the SYMPTOMS< then get yourself a doctor who will LISTEN to you and help YOU with your needs, not just make you listen to HIS (or her) opinion….
It is your life, and each days spent in pain and misery is a day lost and it shouldnt go one any further……

28 is awful young to have that disease. Have you ever been tested for depression??Depression can be painful to and just by reading this little bit you have wrote I sure hear depression in between the lines. If I were you I would difinetly check into it.
I will be seeing a specialist in a few weeks to find out what is wrong with me. I too hurt everywhere. I don’t smile or laugh much anymore either. I did realize that the reason I don’t smile or laugh is because so much has stopped in my life. All the things I did I just can’t do anymore. This past week tho I changed things some. I found a kitten a home, I spend more time with my mom who I only use to visit a hour a few times a week and became better friends with a neighbor. It’s not what I am use of doing but it helps. Hang in there and at least try to smile. The depression and fatigue don’t help much I know to get you to at least do things but push yourself to take a walk.

My mother was diagnosed with the same thing when she was 50, they started going to AZ every winter to help with the pain(we live in Mi) after about 5 years of drugs she found a book about the foods we eat, she changed her diet and came home one spring a completely different woman, she is basically pain free and takes only the drugs to off set the side affects from everything she had taken in the past. I would recommend you take a close look at what you eat. No fast food and no soda are the first things to eliminate just doing that can change your whole life, then try organic foods! check out "all natural cures" by Kevin Trudeau it will change the way you eat forever! P.S. My mother is now 75 and very healthy!!!

the best thing for you to do is to join a group either local to you or i bet there is one on yahoo groups.
people usually have different ideas and natural cures.
i know there have been a lot of diet studies, and im sure there are rh/a diets on the net you can try.
once you start proper drugs you will feel better, celebrex is good, but there are much more potent drugs out there like methotrexate and gold injections
