I have chronic osteoarthritis and Degenerative Joint and Disc disease. One doctor has said Fibro and one says no. Lately I have been feeling an awful stinging in my wrist and my heels of my feet. It feels like I have a bad blister on the sides of my heels and there is nothing there and also the same sting in my wrist. It is nothing like the awful ache I am used to from the Arthritis. I’m hoping someone can help give me an idea of which condition could be causing this?
It seems to me that everyday there is a new drug which comes out hailed as having great potential yet when you check around there seem to be few diseases which have been cured by any drugs. The headache is still around. High cholesterol still exists. People still have heart attacks. Cancer is as bad as ever. People still lose their hair as they get older. Gout and arthritis are still around. Epilepsy is still here. Alzheimers etc etc.
I’ll go even further than drugs. look into treatments in general. Teeth whitening doesn’t work that well. Skin creams haven’t helped the people I know. Smokers still have a hard time quitting. Fat people try everything to lose but they have yet to find a solution as far as I know.
And thousands of billions of dollars have been poured into solving all these problems. In the end the consumers would have been better off spending their money on something better.
Any thoughts on this reality?
i have bilateral sacro-iliac joint pain that is becoming chronic. the orthopedist i went to see wants to do a steroid injections. (since i’ve had a bad reaction to steroids in the past i don’t consider this an option.) i just wondered if anyone has any experience with treatments other than injections.
What is your opinion in the adoption of Minocin as a drug to stop the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis? And for how long can a patient tolerate this medication..
I was just diagnosed with this form of arthritis, read many opinions but was curious if anyone else has expiernce in this and what meds worked the best for you.
I am, and have caught a bad dose of flue.
As this treatment lowers my bodys immune system, should I see my specialist quickly ?
I read that a sore throat, headaches, and other general flue symptons, can be a side effect of taking this treatment and should be reported to your physician.
I crack almost everything (fingers, wrists, toes, back, neck, etc.). Is this harmful or just a bad habit?
I just started the drug and need to know if there is anyone who can give me some insight on the drug. Do the benefits outweigh the risks? Is the liver damage a potential risk worth not taking the drug for?
I have no cartilege (degenerative joint disease) in both knees I am 35 yrs old and used to exercise daily. Pain keeps me from exercising now and it also makes arthritis worse if you DONT exercise. Any suggestions? Knee replacement is NOT an option for me at this point in my life. They are only good for 10 years (is my understanding) I can’t afford the gym and can’t access an indoor pool. PLEASE HELP.

But guide me keeping in view my medical problem of arthritis.
My significant other has recently started to experience what he thinks is some type of arthritis in his fingers. I am looking for suggestions from all of you on what sort of home remedies I can try to help ease the suffering some. Keep in mind that he has a history of heart disease and type 1 diabetes, which he has been faithfully seeing doctors for, and already is taking multitudes of medications for. We both know about getting a doctor’s opinion, and we both know about the types of medication available, so I am not looking for suggestions along this line. Some of the medications he is currently taking is purely experimental, his doctors are constantly changing them because some of the medications clash, so we are not looking for another medication suggestion. I am looking for suggestions on what we can try at home to help ease his suffering, from people in the real world who suffer just like my significant other does, and NOT from yet another doctor!
Doctor suggests Alieve 5 pills/day, seems like too much.
Suggestions welcome….
Hello. I am 23 year old female and I had a spinal fusion surgery when i was 14 years old for a very severe scoliosis. I have recently been to a doctor and I have evidence of degenerative changes in my lower back (arthritis). On normal days I feel regular aches and pains but on bad rainy days especially in the winter the pain can be excruciating to the point where I went to the hospital once and cried through a whole day of classes another time. I have tried wet heat bags that you microwave and put on the location of pain and have recently been prescribed muscle relaxors.
My question is this. Is this normal and do other people who had this surgery go through this every time it rains too? What do you do about it and what helps the most? Thank you I appreciate every answer.
To the person who mentioned bad discs this indeed is one of my problems. My MRI showed degeneration and arthritis developing in the lower non fused part of my back but that pain I feel daily and is different from the pain I feel on rainy wet days but I would also appreciate any advice on lower back pain for degenerative discs as well. Thanks
The arthritis is in the back and knee of a young man with degenerative disc disease. He also has ulcers in his stomach so this is something to take into account. We are interested in both over the counter and prescription drugs. Thanks.

I am asking on behalf of my mother who has had osteoarthritis in her hands for over thirty years (thumb joint area) and has tried many and varied forms of treatment including most recently a hydro cortisone injection and all to no avail.
I was wondering if there is anyone who has or who knows of anyone with a similar condition who has found anything which has produced positive results. She is in Scotland so perhaps certain treatments may not be accessible although perhaps online purchasing can be enquired into.
Any feedback would be appreciated
Thanks.

I am taking methotrexate and don’t think its working ( i know it takes a while so I am giving it more time) I am 25 by the way. Humira or Embrel is in the foreseeable future. Is it worth the risk. The pain in my hands is terrible and more specifically in three fingers on my dominant hand. Are there any other effective treatments other then the three i have mentioned/.
Does anyone know of any experts in the NYC or lower CT area in the field of psoriatic arthritis or Rheumatoid.
Please suggest anything besides drugs or medicine that is natural and beneficial for arthritis. Thanks
