I have recently found out I have chlamydia, which means i have probably had it for 3 years. Over the last year i have noticed clicking in my wrists and sometimes in the ankles - could this be caused by chlamydia ? or just age? and will the pills for chlamydia clear everything up?
(23 - Male)
I have a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis. My knees, ankles, hands and other joints swell up with fluid a lot. I have had my knees drained of fluid around 25 to 30 times. I feel like I’m running out of options. I’ve had arthroscopic knee surgery and it didn’t help. I’m in a lot of pain all the time even when I don’t have visual signs of swelling.
I am on a strong pain killer and also take Plaquenil. I am just afraid of more problems occuring if I take the drug azathioprine. Please help!
I am 6 weeks pregnant and having quite a bit of joint pain. It’s in my knees, ankles and fingers. Is this normal this early in pregnancy? I did not have any of these symptoms with my first. It’s a nagging achy kind of pain that started with just my knees and has moved to other joints. UGH…..
Thanks Kaylaxki! So it would cause pain in my knees, ankles and fingers too?
I have sever joint pain in both my wrists, both hips, both knees and occasionally my ankles. I have seen an Orthopedic Specialist, and I have seen a Rhumatologist. Its is not rheumatoid arthritis, and its not tendinitis. I have had the consistent pain for over 10 years. My twin sister is also suffering with this pain.
One suggestion was Lupus, but the blood results were negative.
Does any one have suggestions or advice?
i know absolutely nothing about it.
if im fifteen years can i do it? or is there a certain age?
i know this will sound completely weird but i just got my lip pierced twice and i loved the pain so my friend said giving blood would be a good since i can tolerate the needles.
the medical problems i have are messed up joints and degenerative arthritis in my ankles(i have two malpracticed surgeries) and asthma. would that affect me if i gave blood?
give me as much facts about it as you can. thank you.
I know that I should be on glucosamine for my joints(mainly my shoulders) and I think it may have the same cause as the pain in my ankles.
Sometimes when I walk a lot, run, or hike I get a dull pain in my left ankle, right below the end of the fibula(the bump on the outside of your ankle). Often times, it comes with a grinding feeling in the area.
Basically I know what it most likely is, and cannot afford professional treatment or even glucosamine tablets at the moment.(Anything less than -40 for a 1-month supply doesnt really work)
What I want to know is what I can do at home with a small budget to treat or prevent this?
(Was thinking ankle brace and/or arch support pads in shoes, but want other options, and opinions on these)
This summer my mom started feeling pain in her right elbow. Later her whole arm would hurt so the doctor said it was probably Tendinitis so she gave her a few exercises to do. Now her joints in her wrist, knees, ankles and toes sometimes hurt. Doctors still don’t know what it could be. Any ideas??
I occasionally crack my right wrist, just because I write with that hand, and I like to roll my ankles and crack them because it feels good. Will I have a high chance of developing arthritis when I’m older. I’m 15 by the way.
im 14 and ive done many sports in my life, like dance, gymnastics, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer and lacrosse and during the last year i have been have lots of joint pain, mostly in my ankles and in my wrists, but lately its been in my finger joints. it is very painful, it hurts the most after playing a soccer game but it hurts almost every night, sometimes to the point where i am in tears and am unable to bear it. do you think this sounds like juvenile arthritis? if not what might it be? also do you think the fact that i used to have scoliosis might be a reason for my joint pain?
or related degenerative forms of arthritis….Is it more of an isolated disease, or–is can it affect the body in a more general way as well?
I have pain in my hips, along my spine and w/ my ankles-it feels like it’s more joint and bone related; I dont know how much of this is exasperated by worry. Im 32 yrs. old. <pardon the lack of detail, just work w/ whats on your minds folks>
-my apreciation:)))
He’s been sick for 4 months now and on the waiting for UCLA Children’s Hospital. All the blood tests are coming back normal as well as the MRI. The only thing he tested positive for was the rheumatoid factor (and slightly anemic) but he doesn’t have rheumatoid arthritis per 2 doctors. He’s starting to lose his balance when he stands/walks and can’t sit down for any amount of time without pain from the hips down to the ankles (including the muscles). The only comfortable position he can be in with the least amount of pain is flat on the floor - even sleeping on an extremely comfortable mattress hurts. Regardless of where he sleeps at night, he is woken up in the middle of the night with pain. He is taking naprosyn per the UCLA doctor until he can get in to see her. Has anyone else experienced this or know anything about this? He was negative for lupus, mono, lyme disease, ankylosing spondylitis.
We are on the waiting list for a pediatric neurologist and pediatric ophthalmologist also. Watching my son in pain and being stuck in limbo because of the "system" is so frustrating. If it were their children they would see him. Our family doctor keeps calling to emphasize the urgency but it’s gotten us nowhere so far.
My joints pop and crack a lot! Almost every joint, my toes, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows… ect. I’m only 26, but my dad has arthritis pretty bad and has already had a hip replaced at 59. My joints don’t usually hurt, sometimes my hip will if it cracks particullarly hard. My hubby and I have started working out and my hips and knees will hurt the next day. Just wondering what other peoples experiences with this were and if there’s anything I could do about it. Do the Glucosamine Chondroitin products help?
I was diagnosed as having seronegative reactive arthritis last July. The initial flare caused me to be bedridden for three months and a spell in hospital. My specialist told me that most patients are recovered within 3-6 months. It caused swelling in most of my joints and a lot of pain. Along with a whole bucket full of other symptoms, mouth ulcers, conjunctivitis along with a nasty rash.Initially I had my knee’s drained and was given steroid injections into some of my joints. I am currently taking Paracetamol & dihydracodiene for the pain, doesn’t help much. Lansrapole, celexocib, methotrexate and folic acid, I have been taking these for nearly 10 months now and dont seem to be improving much. I still have swollen fingers, wrists, knees, ankles, I have terrible back, shoulder, elbow, ankle, knee pain, it has also left me with three deformed fingers. Just these last few weeks it has presented itself in the right side of my face and is very painful to try and eat, its usually just soup these days., My specialist says all he can do is to see how i am in 4 months time and go from there. I am in constant pain, sometimes I can’t even manage to get out of bed. Has anyone else had this and recovered from it. Im only 37 with four active kids who have had to help me dress, bathe etc. For the last ten months it has taken over thier lives aswell. I’ve had to leave my job and this disease has completely threw my world into turmoil. Is there any hope, does anyone know of any home remedies I could try that may help. The only thing I have found makes me feel ‘normal’ again is when I go into hospital and they give me steroids on an I V, my Dr won’t let me continue with this as its harmul to my liver/kidneys. Any words of advice would be gratefully recieved.
My fiancee has been on dialysis for 3 years. He is 24.
Within the last month hes started having extreme pain and swelling in his wrists, knuckles, toes, ankles and outsides of his feet. It seems to be getting worse. Theres swelling in his fingers and ankles, pain to the lightest touch, sometimes tingling and the areas are often hot. He does feel weakness as well.
The pain is so severe the only thing thats come close to helping is Vicodin. He didn’t even need to take any Vicodin after surgery, this pain is that bad. He also has taken Advil and it seems to help a bit.
His doctor said this could be a protein build up from dialysis. Is this reversible or even treatable?
They think it could also be neuropathy. What are the chances of this, and is it reversible or treatable?
Is it just a type of arthritis?
Over active Parathyroid?
He is miserable. What can we do? He has an appointment with neurology, but its not for another two weeks. I don’t know if he can last that long.
I had it, I had a mild case of it, I had it in : my neck, fingers, wrist, feet, ankles, hips, shoulders. I had two feet surgries.
I have "Arther: in my knees, feet, hands, ankles, and my whole spine,I was told to try to find a pool that can help me at no cost to me.How?,nothing is free.
my daughter has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and she has it in both ankles, knees and some fingers and toes. She refuses to take medicine and i was unsure how i would know when or if she is in pain and what i should do to help her with it without using medicine?????? please help!!!!
My fiance has rheumatiod arthritis in his feet and ankles and in the back. He tosses and turns almost every night to where it keeps him up and also me. We are going to look for a mattress this week. Should we look more deeply into firm or soft mattress'?
My husband has been diagnosed with psoriactic arthritis, which means he has psoriasis in his joints and the pain is unbelievable in his feet, ankles and wrists and hands. We have been to rheumatologists and have had several kinds of prescription but nothing has helped. Now they want to try some injections which will cost 1000 dollars a month and is not covered by our insurance. Anyone who has had similiar experience and found some relief please tell me….Serious answers only please..I am desperate to find him some relief. Thank you.
I have alot of pain in my left knee, almost constantly, and it's usually swollen. I haven't had an injury to the knee, but I did injure my right knee several years ago. I am wondering if anyone knows of any exercises or anything to help strengthen my knee and to relieve pain? Advil helps some, but I wind up having to take so many that my ankles wind up swelling. Any SERIOUS suggestions or remedies would be greatly appreciated.
I am 15 years old, and I have arthritis in my ankles. I admit that trekking two flights of stairs between every class, and my overacheiver-complex does not help my situation, and my mother and I are fresh out of ideas on how to help my problem besides the obvious medication. Does anyone know any thing that may help. Doesn't HAVE to be natural, but it would help if it were…thank you in advance.
I have osteoarthritis in my neck, lower back, wrists and ankles. I take prescription anti inflamitories and muscle relaxers in order to go to work. I work 10 hrs a day on my feet constantly moving, stretching and bending. While this movement is good for my arthritis, it can get really painful by the end of the day. I feel like I am up a creek without a paddle most of the time, especially after a 3 day workout. Then I just totally crash. I am tired of waking up with swollen hands, having a crick in my back and limping for a while after sitting down for 30 minutes.
