I had a Total Knee Replacement on my left knee 3 years ago. I had some arthritis in both knees. The right knee wasn’t too bad at that time. Now it pains when I bend it & it has some swelling. I have no plans to have another TKR. Would walking help strengthen it or not?
Have tried glucosamine chondroitin, didnt help at all. 16 YRS OLD, mega knee joint pain, ongoing. Any ideas?
she has this in both knees. No old injuries.
Does glucosamine work on osteoarthritis in both knees?
my mom who is 55 and is having pain in both knees. I feel awful for her and obviously I want to help her to feel better.
Please advise or answer to my question.
Thank you.
I have sever joint pain in both my wrists, both hips, both knees and occasionally my ankles. I have seen an Orthopedic Specialist, and I have seen a Rhumatologist. Its is not rheumatoid arthritis, and its not tendinitis. I have had the consistent pain for over 10 years. My twin sister is also suffering with this pain.
One suggestion was Lupus, but the blood results were negative.
Does any one have suggestions or advice?
I have no cartilege (degenerative joint disease) in both knees I am 35 yrs old and used to exercise daily. Pain keeps me from exercising now and it also makes arthritis worse if you DONT exercise. Any suggestions? Knee replacement is NOT an option for me at this point in my life. They are only good for 10 years (is my understanding) I can’t afford the gym and can’t access an indoor pool. PLEASE HELP.
I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis for 14 years ( I am 51). I have been to many doctors, taken almost every medication, and have had a shoulder surgery and both knees replaced. I have a pool but can only use it about 4-5 months of the year. I try to eat right but cannot do a lot of exercising. Does anyone have any suggestions?
My mom has terrible arthritis pain in both knees. Right now surgery is out of the question because it’s too expensive. Does anyone know of any home remedies or vitamins that would help relieve the pain my mom is having?
I wonder how people with degenerative arthrosis also known as degenerative arhtritis or degenerative osteoarthritis, have deal with the unbearable pain and work. Have this condition stop you from working ? How can I return to work, and with what medications to kill the severe pain on my feet and knees joints ? I dont want to become bedwritten, Im only 29 years old and already have Degenerative Arthrosis on my both feet & both knees, periostitis atributed to enthesopathy, tendinitis, synovitis, crps, rsd, a fracture on my foot that havent healed yet in 5 years since it happened, etc, not to mention the depresion this have caused me, but im not giving up yet. Althouht im in a lot of constant severe pain, I will like to know if this condition will get less painfull with time or if is going to get worst and what can I do, since doctors are afraid to give straight answers on this questions. Anyone suffering from any of this conditions, I will appreciate any comments on this. Thanks.
I dont think that baking brownies with marihuana is for me…lol. I dont even smoke it, much less eat it….Thanks thou.
I’m an obese woman with severe degenerative arthritis in both knees. I’m in constant pain, and can’t walk or stand much, now in a wheelchair. I’ve tried several diets, none seem to work. I even did a bad thing and started taking Xenadrine NRG 8hour ( It work for me before when I was younger, & not on meds), and due to the 50Million medicines I’m on, it counteracted and I almost had a heart attack. Oh and I have a small blockage in my heart controlled by Bayer low dose. Growing old SUCKS!! I don’t want much. I just want to lose enough to get me able to be in less pain and be “frisky” with my wonderful husband again! I know I’m not active but, come on , something got to give when you’re taking slim fast for breakfast and lunch then a sensible dinner. That’s a WAY big difference from what I use to eat!! Any ideas on what can help? Could the medications cause me not to lose?
After suffering bad knee and hip pain for over 2 years and an athroscopy and lateral release on my right knee the NHS have finally diagnosed osteoarthritis in both knees, both hips, my right hand and various other parts of my body.
Last week I had a gel injection (Duralone) in each knee and there has been an improvement in mobility and definitely much less pain. I have now been out on my bike for the last 4 days with no problems.
I am in my late 40’s and have a background of long distance running and cycling - I was doing around 300 miles a week on the bike until the problems began.
I do not want to compete in the future but I do want to get into shape again. How do I put back on the muscle I’ve lost and lose the lard I’ve gained without doing myself further damage?
I have severe arthritis in both knees & back, I can't exercise like normal people that can jump around & walk & run. I have to use a walker or wheel chair, when I walk I can walk for just a few steps & have to sit down again the pain is so bad. I take celebrex for it every day. I heard pools are a good way to get exercise but there its out of the question as I am on a limited budget & the pool fees cost way too much, any suggestions on how I can exercise every day & try to keep fit like I used to be? I would appriciate any suggestions.
My mother has arthritis in both knees. Her cartilage has worn out and now she suffers from severe pain in both of her knees. She is already taking prescription medications for it which don't seem to help. She took shots in both of her knees to help with the pain but after a few months it wears off.
If you are suffering from very bad arthritis and you get relief somehow, please do share with me how you get relief.
This is a friend of mine, who has always been active and likes sports, but has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in both knees. She was advised to lose weight too, so the knees would not have to work hard carrying the extra weight.
What kind of exercise would be good for someone with knee replacement?
