My father is 76, and just starting to have pain from arthritis in the back and knees. I was hoping you guys could suggest something that would work a good portion of the day - - or at least from breakfast until dinner (he tends to be much less active at night most nights…..he does go dancing a couple nights a week)
What do suggest that is available over the counter?
Thanks all
Be well

For someone his age he is really good shape. He only takes a low dose of blood pressure medication. I was planning on getting the okay from his doctor, but I was just wondering what other people found to be helpful for more than a few hours, because it would be easier for him to take something only once a day…..
Thanks for the suggestions all
Because the pain is directly between his shoulder blades and a couple inches below, I think he would have a real hard timewith applying topicals…(though I really like tiger balm too, lol) There are some good answers here. I’m going to leave it open for a couple more days in case people starred it and others want to answer. I’ll email this to my Dad, and see what he has to say….
Thanks everyone.
my dad has it really bad, and he has to work at the post office and lift these gigantic bags of mail, and he always has the authritis . so is there any REALLY GOOD working medicine that you can over the counter?
even if we did buy a jacuzzi, he wouldn’t have the time to do anything with it. he works 5 days a week and most of the time has to work on his off days or come in early and he works at night. he has no time for a jacuzzi
My joints pop and crack a lot! Almost every joint, my toes, ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows… ect. I’m only 26, but my dad has arthritis pretty bad and has already had a hip replaced at 59. My joints don’t usually hurt, sometimes my hip will if it cracks particullarly hard. My hubby and I have started working out and my hips and knees will hurt the next day. Just wondering what other peoples experiences with this were and if there’s anything I could do about it. Do the Glucosamine Chondroitin products help?
Me and my dad are just alike and neither one of us has ever had any medical problems. My dad does have really bad arthritis though now that he’s in his 50’s. Almost to the point where it’s crippling. I just turned 25. What are some things I could start doing to prevent getting this condition as well?

I need to get my Dad into a group therapy situation for his severe degenerative arthritis, or a chronic pain group. I have looked online and not found anything helpful. Does anyone know of a group at the Jersey Shore (Lavallette, NJ 07835)/Toms River, NJ/etc area? Please share any information on this. Thank you very much.
Thanks for your help - any one else have info too? I have contacted the website for more info…
My Dad is settled in USA, and he suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Can anyone suggest me a job which he can take up, which he can do, without too much of physical work? He is well educated and was a teacher in India, but he is waiting for his certificates to get to USA, to apply for teaching positions. In the mean time, I would like to suggest him a job, which would not take too much of physical troubles, at the same time which does not need much education. He does not mind working for the minimum salary in USA. Please help me.
What is the main symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis??
I’m worried of my dad…please help me..
My dad has this type of arthritis and his legs always hurt really bad. He is only 54 years old and he can barely walk around. What are some things that he can try to ease the pain so that he can get around better. He is still kind of young.
My father is 80 years old and has a lot of trouble walking. A specialist told him he needs surgery but we as a family fear that he might not make it through surgery or the long recovery/rehabilitation.
My dad just wants to be pain free again. Does anyone have any suggestions?
