I am on medication, one is considered a chemotherapy drug for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have asked both my doctors, family and Rheumatologist and they have no idea. No such side effects are listed. It was predominantly on my left side but now the curls are also on my right side.
My son has had pains in his knees/feet since he could walk and he is now 5, almost 6. On many occassions it has been so bad that he can not even walk. The doctors refused to do any testing for Arthritis and blow it off as growing pains. Am I just an overly concerned parent, or do you think there is a possibility it could be arthrits? Also it seems to be irritated by the cold.
in treating rheumatoid arthritis, doctors sometimes prescribe antimalarial drugs to reduce pain. my teacher told me that while taking these antimalarial drugs, patients will develop malaria later on as well due to the meds and NOT by mosquito bites. is this true? pls help!
My significant other has recently started to experience what he thinks is some type of arthritis in his fingers. I am looking for suggestions from all of you on what sort of home remedies I can try to help ease the suffering some. Keep in mind that he has a history of heart disease and type 1 diabetes, which he has been faithfully seeing doctors for, and already is taking multitudes of medications for. We both know about getting a doctor’s opinion, and we both know about the types of medication available, so I am not looking for suggestions along this line. Some of the medications he is currently taking is purely experimental, his doctors are constantly changing them because some of the medications clash, so we are not looking for another medication suggestion. I am looking for suggestions on what we can try at home to help ease his suffering, from people in the real world who suffer just like my significant other does, and NOT from yet another doctor!
My rabbit has severe arthritis in her right leg.
We took her to the doctors a month ago but the medication given to her hasnt improved her at all so i was wondering if i could give her some fish oil (because apparently it helps with arthritis) and if i can, how much do i give her daily.
much appreciated! thanks (:
I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis for 14 years ( I am 51). I have been to many doctors, taken almost every medication, and have had a shoulder surgery and both knees replaced. I have a pool but can only use it about 4-5 months of the year. I try to eat right but cannot do a lot of exercising. Does anyone have any suggestions?
This summer my mom started feeling pain in her right elbow. Later her whole arm would hurt so the doctor said it was probably Tendinitis so she gave her a few exercises to do. Now her joints in her wrist, knees, ankles and toes sometimes hurt. Doctors still don’t know what it could be. Any ideas??
im 16, and my doctor said i have psoriatic arthritis. i think hes wrong. the lower articulations in 2 fingers hurt, and every so often some months, it switches to 1 or 2 other fingers and it ends in those (that is from that arthritis). next, the doctor told me my nails were tipping or something like that, i forgot the name of that action, yet I dont think hes right my mom and i, and my friends and i checked the nails and we all have them exactly the same. next, i dont have anything of psoriasis. the little red things u get in your forehead/head, no symptoms at all of psoriasis. do u think my doctors wrong?
Im 21 an when i was 12 i had hip surgery an now the doctors tell my i have degenrative arthritis im just wondering what is it an whats the long trem affects
I have rheumatoid arthritis and work for a medical clinic. I do just fine if I don’t do things that aggrevate my condition which is climbing stairs. We have two offices, one upstairs (with no elevator and 24 stairs straight up) and one downstairs. I’m one of three receptionist and the doctors make us rotate between offices. I have RA in both feet and my knees and after climbing stairs I’m usually in pain for a couple days after. If I totally refuse to do their rotation, can they legally fire me, even though I do everything else that they ask of me?
I have stage IV cirrhosis of the liver, and sever arthritis that prevents me from working and my Workman’s compensation doctors won’t prescribe anything other than Vicodin for my pain. I know acetaminophen is bad for the liver, and was wondering if workman compensation doctors are only allowed to prescribe a certain class of drugs for pain. The doctors know I have stage IV cirrhosis of the liver, and they still prescribe pain medication that is bad from my liver.
doctors diagnose this as a over lap syndrome.
Arthritis and such runs in the family, my grandmother doesn’t even have her real hips anymore. The pains have been getting worse and it’s definitely not from a lack of movement. Does anyone know of joint meds or even doctors? Homeopathic medicine, just anything. I’m in Northern NJ.
I was wondering why doctors simply diagnose patients to be afflicted with rheumatism without tests at all. Their priscriptions usually end up as PAIN RELIEVERS only with costs widely gapped. NOT cure thus the pain always return after the priscribed drug is consumed or after the pain has become emmune to the drug.
I wonder how people with degenerative arthrosis also known as degenerative arhtritis or degenerative osteoarthritis, have deal with the unbearable pain and work. Have this condition stop you from working ? How can I return to work, and with what medications to kill the severe pain on my feet and knees joints ? I dont want to become bedwritten, Im only 29 years old and already have Degenerative Arthrosis on my both feet & both knees, periostitis atributed to enthesopathy, tendinitis, synovitis, crps, rsd, a fracture on my foot that havent healed yet in 5 years since it happened, etc, not to mention the depresion this have caused me, but im not giving up yet. Althouht im in a lot of constant severe pain, I will like to know if this condition will get less painfull with time or if is going to get worst and what can I do, since doctors are afraid to give straight answers on this questions. Anyone suffering from any of this conditions, I will appreciate any comments on this. Thanks.
I dont think that baking brownies with marihuana is for me…lol. I dont even smoke it, much less eat it….Thanks thou.
I was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis in 2005 at the age of 15, they didn’t give me any medication of any sort, they just told me what my diagnosis was and i went home, I am now in severe agony with the pain, but the doctors told me that there is no record of this on any of my records!
what is the meaning of this?!?!?!
thanks xXx
I’ve had osteoarthritis for some time now, but just found out that I have bone spurs on my left hip joint! I went online to research it and found that the usual treatment is TRH (Total Hip Replacement)! I’m sweating bullets…I’m still middle-aged and NOT ready for walkers, canes, personal care attendants, much less what one guy described on his website as "violent surgery"!!! I still don’t have all the info, but would like to get some personal feedback, to add to the doctors’ "sweet-talk", ya know?
I have no idea what is wrong with my fiance. He is 23 years old and can barely walk in the mornings. He thinks he has arthritis, but I think it may be something else. Weather does not affect his pain level, which I find rather odd. He had surgery on one knee when he was a teenager and he was fine for a while, then ALL his joints started hurting. I am thinking maybe he got an infection of some sort. Every time I try to look it up I get frustrated by the results. He has had a rheumatoid blood test that came back negative as well. Are the doctors he’s been going to just incapable?
Also on the above question, elevated sed rate, and speckled ANA. Doctors thought it was lupus but ruled that out. Severe pain is constant.
I have been to 2 rheumatologists that think I have an autoimmune disorder but do not know what kind but they do not think it is lupus

Cant do any upper body exercise due to my right shoulder and cant do any lower body exercise due to the knee problem. tried swimming but it too causes shoulder pain.Have tried different doctors and physiotherapy without any success…….I AM JUST 34 YEARS OLD. HOW WILL I LIVE THE REST OF MY LIFE WITHOUT EXERCISE???, I will probably die young due to lack of exercise. this is very frustrating.
